Is the monumental loss of lives in this pandemic not enough to unite humanity?

Usually, humanity emerges by four factors love, faith, fear and hope. Everyone has been profoundly affected by COVID-19. This pandemic has resulted in millions of deaths and misfortunes, which brings these four prime factors into action.

Coronavirus is continuously spreading across the world, causing several losses of lives, which generates an aura of love and compassion. Doctors, nurses, volunteers and policemen are sacrificing their lives to provide support to others. They are answering calls for help and performing their jobs without any break. In many areas, hundreds of volunteers cook and deliver food to destitute people.

Consequently, this pandemic can bind us under the umbrella of humanity as it arouses several emotions and sentimental feelings.

Moreover, this pandemic calls forth faith in oneself and others by which no country is worrying about internal rivalries and conflicts instead; everyone is trying to control the situation with collaboration. All those countries which used to put most of their money in the defence sector are today using it for healthcare.

Not only this, but many countries are helping those countries whose economy has badly hit by the pandemic. All this restores our faith in one another.

Meanwhile, for society: fear, anxiety, and stress can be overwhelming. This panic has forced everyone close to one another and unified our forces in this war. Due to the fear of our health, we are concerned about the people at severer risks. Like Saylani and Edhi, welfares are assisting needy ones in this outbreak. Many local charities have also initiated to overcome the economic burden. These collective and unconventional actions are momentous and a step towards humanity.

Most importantly, everyone is earnestly hoping for a decrease in the numbers of corona cases and the return of the healthy world. For this, several researchers and clinicians are putting their heads together to provide an effective vaccine. Even after possibilities of failure, they are not abandoning the hope to find a treatment as the world is in dire need of vaccine. After days of incredible hardships, finally, they came up with a robust vaccine that is a dominant achievement and is unbelievable.

Hence, this fatal and mortal disease is making questions about our existence. Its shattering consequences are arousing the sense of love, hope, fear and faith, which is bringing togetherness. This pandemic comes up with a sense of solidarity, integrity and all these feelings can unite humanity.

“Love, hope, fear, faith — these make humanity; These are its sign and note and character.”- Robert Browning
